For three years running, I have managed to allot time & money (& my friend's giving spirit *wink, wink*) to spend Holy Week in some of the best places in the country with some of my greatest friends: Jun, Vannie, Sonny, Wookie & Winsley (plus new found friend Glenn).
This year, we have all decided to fly to the island of Bantayan in Cebu and spend a rare long weekend frolicking in its white sand beach and its clear seawater.
The travel going there was long and arduous and we spent pretty much most of our first day bound to our seats in the plane, in a van, in the ferry and a multi-cab. But all things considered, it was all worth it.
The island is nice (though not as much as Bohol, Camiguin or Boracay), the resort we stayed in was cozy and the fact that not a lot of people were there, it was a nice place to unwind and relax in for a few days.
Interesting fact: Bantayan is the only place in the entire Catholic world where it is allowed to eat pork even during the Holy Week (yes, they have an expressed permission from the Vatican!). With the 'No Pork Policy' lifted, we were able to feast on whatever food we like without much guilt and boy did we eat! We even joked that we get hungry practically every hour!
I could ramble more on about the stuff we did, said and wished we could have said & done and them 'jaw-dropping action scenes' (it's a long story!), but I'll just let you check out some of the photos taken during our trip so you'll have an idea how much fun we had...
Enjoy... well, probably not as much as we did...
