Our Bantayan Island Getaway

For three years running, I have managed to allot time & money (& my friend's giving spirit *wink, wink*) to spend Holy Week in some of the best places in the country with some of my greatest friends: Jun, Vannie, Sonny, Wookie & Winsley (plus new found friend Glenn).

This year, we have all decided to fly to the island of Bantayan in Cebu and spend a rare long weekend frolicking in its white sand beach and its clear seawater.

The travel going there was long and arduous and we spent pretty much most of our first day bound to our seats in the plane, in a van, in the ferry and a multi-cab. But all things considered, it was all worth it.

The island is nice (though not as much as Bohol, Camiguin or Boracay), the resort we stayed in was cozy and the fact that not a lot of people were there, it was a nice place to unwind and relax in for a few days.

Interesting fact: Bantayan is the only place in the entire Catholic world where it is allowed to eat pork even during the Holy Week (yes, they have an expressed permission from the Vatican!). With the 'No Pork Policy' lifted, we were able to feast on whatever food we like without much guilt and boy did we eat! We even joked that we get hungry practically every hour!

I could ramble more on about the stuff we did, said and wished we could have said & done and them 'jaw-dropping action scenes' (it's a long story!), but I'll just let you check out some of the photos taken during our trip so you'll have an idea how much fun we had...

Enjoy... well, probably not as much as we did...

The Sun Sets on `Shine

2 months shy of our 3rd anniversary, My Sunshine and I decided to call it quits.
And it has turned out to be the most amicable break-up I had to go through...

None of the arguments, none of the 'placing the blame', none of the tears...

Not because we didn't care...
Not because we no longer love each other...
Not because what we had didn't mean anything at all...

We just got to that point where this is where we are supposed to be...

We gave our all, we did our best, we shared what we could...

the sweetest songs
fade to echoes in the wind
the best of times stand
so a new day can begin
and the dreams we dream
that seems so real at night
must meet the morning light
and vanish from our sight

it’s just goodbye remember
time was never our friend
we walked our road together
and we came to the end
it’s just goodbye
now i won’t tell you not to cry
but i swear that what we had won’t die
‘coz it isn’t over
it’s just goodbye

i close my eyes
& i still can see your face
i know the truth of us
can’t be bound by time or space
and the joy we shared,
the magic that we know
is something that we own
though we may be alone

it’s just goodbye
it doesn’t really matter why
i know what we had can never die

‘coz i’ll always love you

yes, i’ll always love you

so it’s just goodbye…

Comeback 'Material'

After months of non-blogging activity, and without a need to explain why the long absence (not that anyone really noticed anyway)...

The Material Boy is back!

Many things have happened in the time I was gone. Some good, some great, some very promising and one very sad. I may or may not recap everything, but I will sure try...

I just hope you guys missed me at all... hehe!
